After a little update from our friends at wepowder Jan, Rok, Slak, Tomažin and me headed out early in the morning to catch some fresh pow at Zauchensee, a good two hour drive from Ljubljana. After switching cars twice and no snow for at least an hour of driving we finally reached the Tauren Mountains. And on the other side the promised Austrian  POWLAND started.

Arriving at the parking lot it was clear pretty quickly that it was gonna be a interesting day. And for once there were more people in the back-country then on the slopes. We hit the high area first. We knew the wind would pick up and it was only a question of time before the Cable-car got shut down. And soon so it did. After hitting some nice pillows at the upper area we retreated to tree runs and a few nice drop points on the lower terrain. 
The day passed quickly and we headed back home in what was the begining of another 40 cm dump of freshies for the next day. And on the way back we got a little treat for our firend Petra form Vertical Advantures Slovenia. Tortilias 🙂

Avalanche danger was manageable and the amount of freeriders at the resort helped boost our confidence and ride safe ! We did set of a few little rolls here and there and saw what seems to have been an entire flank that went down at the upper part of the resort but all in all it was a nice and smooth day. Avarating for the day was 3-4.
