So as originally planned  we headed for Krippenstein early in the morning on Saturday. After driving off the freeway at Eben it became clear that this is gonna be another big powderday. Passing Dachstein West the snow was everywhere.

We arrived at the cable car station and already lots of people were waiting for the next run up. The friendly lady at the sales counter told us that only the cable cars were working because the wind was blowing at 85 kilometers an hour.

Clouds were moving fast and at the first run you could hardly see the next safty marker. Because we didn’t know the terrain we decided to keep it safe for starters. We moved to the lower area and found a nice entrance into the woods next to an old gondola station.

We meet a few locals who showed us where the other lines were.

The weather started clearing up a little and we finally started seeing more and more. And what we saw put a smile of our faces.  the terrain seemed endless with limitless possibilities. We found everything from cliffs, jumps, coluars. There was only one more thing to say… our gamble had paid off.

Next up we went looking for our hostel. After driving on snowy roads for an hour instead of 10 minutes drifting front and sliding back without slicks and only winter tires we were lucky to find it next to the town center bridge. Thanks o mighty google …. u almost killed us there XD. It wasn’t just us with a powder day but my car got plenty of it too. Fortunately for us it didn’t break down. Opel… German quality 🙂

And for the end of the day we managed to find the only pizzeria run by an Italian dude in town with a monster pizza up for only 21 bucks. Now guess who ate half of it 😉
