Well I finally returned to Ljubljana, after a really awesome weekend in Innsbruck. So many things have happened and the time has passed but far too quickly. Where to begin? Let’s start off with Thursday last week. Before leaving for Innsbruck, there was one event that had to be attended even if it meant that we would be leaving Ljubljana early on Friday, well maybe early is not the right word, at 4 AM.

Of course the event I’m talking about is the premier of Rip Curl’s snowboarding movie Alive and kicking. This time around my friend and organiser Matevž Maček really out did himself. There was only one snow movie premiere in Slovenia I remember that took place in a actual theatre. Suffice it to say that the theatre was jampacked, and even the riders like our friends Urska Pribošič who von at the Dachstein Pleasure Jam the weekend before and Vid Barica well as northeners Nils Arvidsson and Janne Lipsanen were present. Everybody was eagerly awaiting the screening at the party that followed afterwards. And mostly went off without a hitch.
One thing, that surprised me a little was a not so small a detail that I had apparently overlooked. The one Premier was actually two premiers. Since one of the main riders Victor De Le Rue also filmed his extraordinary powder part with standard films, we also got to see standards 2112 (yes the end of the Mayan calender date XD).

After the screening, we had an awesome party, with tons of free goodies courtesy of Rip Curl and standard films sponsors, these include everything from T-shirts, bandannas, all the way to free DVDs of alive and kicking. As much fun as the party was, I haid to cut it short because Innsbruck was still four hours away and I hadn’t slept for almost 24 hours. After a short nap it was already 4 AM and on time and schedule we were off for an insane Innsbruck weekend. About the stuff that went down there, from park riding, sick ridge climing and to the icy glacier walls of Hintertuxs Orperer in the next posts.
