Landed ? What do you think 😛

It’s been a few weeks time since our last visit on the island, and this time we decided to stay a little longer. I don’t exactly remember how we got there, but the constellation was the same as last time. I do recall Naja calling me up and asking if I were up for an extended weekend, and of course I agreed because Monday, was a holiday. Again Davor picked us up. I didn’t sleep. The day before we left I got a last-minute invite to the infamous Marincic birthday party, which meant that I was going to pull an all nighter, of course, party wise. Mildly intoxicated and woozy at 7 am I got into the car and we were off.
We can cook .. its a miracle

So we arrived at Krk having dodged some nasty traffic sometime around noon. We still needed a place to stay because we didn’t exactly plan it trough. After finding a nice huge apartment and having stashed our alcohol in the refrigerator, it was time to head out to the wake lift. So we moved our asses and got into gear. We started out easy because the wind was still strong. Our plans were ambitious. I wanted to wake skate as much as I could, Naja was into practice heralready clean tantrums and wake skate, and Davor was all up for progression. Kickers rails switch switch 180, you name it. I myself was very happy that out of the blue I could finally ride goofie and  regular and even tried a few 180s on the wakeboard that ended a little less stellar. The only thing I didn’t manage to do was the only thing that I actually wanted to do in the first place, ride more wake skate. But all I was quite satisfied.

Of course, it wasn’t just us. Later in the evening we were joined by our friends Tiana Popovič and Rok Rogelj, who both decided spending a weekend in the water was better than staying at home. Both having sustained injuries in the past season started off nice and slow with their wake skates and continued with kickers and rails. Tiana even tried my Surfboard and liked it 😛 Who knows maybe she will become a wavesurfer in the future ;). Of course we also ran into my powder body Aljaz Kette on the wake lift and had some fun together.
Ready to party… XD
Thanks to windy conditions, better known in these parts as burja, we were forced to take more breaks than we wanted. I also found myself longing for a windsurf at a certain point, because watching the people speed on the other side of the bay, I just couldn’t stay idle. My feeble attempts at getting a windsurf rented in the area, unfortunately proved futile as there was none to be had. More on this in the next post.
Krk town center .
We all live in a red submarine.

Of course we also had to party hard which means that we went into the town in the evening and found ourselves at Casa de Padrone. A half way open club in the middle of Krks promenade. They were playing house music and all the genuine standard party sounds but with a nice little twist. Without going into the details about the gogo dacers papazudas which we thoroughly rated, and Tianas expert renditions of their crafts, every evening they added a live act.

On the first evening it was a saxophone player and on the second a electric violinist. I must say that both of them were really experts at what they did, but the violinist was in a league of her own. Think of her as Vanessa Mae only hotter. It was funny because all the fancy chicks looked like they were completely intimidated by her, and she knew exactly what she was doing.

Just hot.. thats all XD

Here checkout a few more pictures by Davor of us in action. It was a lot of fun, so will probably do it again next weekend 🙂
