While staying on Krk the last time (around two weeks ago), from the first day we arrived it was clear that it would be quite windy. Burja was blowing hard. Maybe a kilometre off from the wake lift, at the end of the bay was a somewhat secluded windsurf spot. Most of you guys are probably aware of it but I actually, while having been there are a lot of times never really noticed it. It is one of those safe spots where you can be sure not to be blown off into the open sea when the conditions go extreme on you. It made me get that tingling sensation when you want to do something really badly. On the first day I even went as far as to go looking for a service station to rent gear, of course, to no avail.
Since I couldn’t surf, I was at least determined to take a few nice pictures. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, my laziness made me miss the group shots where you could see up to 25 people in the water speeding their way with the help of the burja wind on the first two days.
On the last day, we decided that we would leave very late because we wanted to take advantage of the entire day. The report said that the wind would stop at noon and we would have nice and flat conditions for the rest of the day. Still looking forward to some wake skating on the wake lift all seemed set. And at around 6 PM, it actually stopped, but only for like 45 min. We did get a few rounds on the wake left, but then the wind picked up immensely. I looked at the surf spot in the distance and didn’t see a single soul. I thought to myself that now would be the time for an awesome session. 20 min past and I looked again. There was one surfer, only one.

I grabbed my camera equipment and ran towards the surf spot, feeling a little guilty that I still hadn’t taken any decent pictures, but that was all about to change, so here I give you the loan surfer speeding his away through the water at 9 PM before the coming storm. If you know this guy is or find yourself on the picture write me a note because that was just pure awesomeness.

The day before it was a little different.. actually quite crowded… still could have been a lot of fun if I had a windsurf handy 😛 A memo for next time.. if you care to pack a wakeboard, wakeskate and and a wavesurf… add a windsurf to complete the set XD.
